Jim had his 4 year check-up the other day. He did very well! Last time we went to the doctor (over the winter with an ear infection) he wasn't 100% cooperative, not wanting to sit on the table, etc. So this time I had talked to him about how he needs to listen to what the nurse & the doctor asked him to do. And he did great! He was all proud of himself for taking his shoes off to get weighed & have his height checked. And he was adorable sitting in the chair while the nurse took his blood pressure.
We then made our way into the exam room. They asked him to put a little paper gown on - which I thought was pretty cute. (I'm sure he didn't think the same!) But the doctor came in, and started to say "Do you have any questions for me" but then responded to that saying "you always have questions for me!" He did very well with the exam, no problems at all! He had to get 2 shots. He was sitting in my lap, and I didn't even realize the nurse had given him his first shot - he didn't even flinch! The 2nd shot was not as much fun for him. There were a couple of tears. (She said it had the tetanus vaccine which typically is more painful!)
But all in all he had a great 4 year check-up! No concerns at all, a happy, healthy boy! (He weighed 35 lbs - which is in the 40th percentile. And was 3'-4.5" - which is the 53rd percentile.)
