Memorial Day Brother's

Jim & Ben wore their red, white, and blue for Memorial Day yesterday.  Of course I had to take pictures of the two of them together -

It started off with them laying on the ground together...

It took some convincing, but I finally got Jim to sit down on the couch with Ben...

And then with even some more convincing, I got Jim to hold, er, drop Ben...(Jim's face is saying, it's more fun to hold him this way...)

And then finally, after even more convincing, Jim held Ben long enough for me to take a couple of pictures!!!

I love these two little guys!!!!!

Just posting a bunch of pictures...

Keeping Busy...

It's been a little while since I last updated this.  It's hard to find time these days - my hands are full with the two boys.  But I wouldn't want it any other way!  It's easiest to get on the computer when Jim is napping, but it always seems when Jim goes down for his nap (around 1:00ish after lunch time), Ben either needs to eat, or he is just waking up from a nap.  I have no complaints at all with this! 

We have been keeping busy with trips to the playground, playdates, going for walks, running around outside, coloring, etc. etc. etc.  I am loving this nice weather - and so is Jim!  He loves, loves being outside, and Ben is always right there with us. 

With that, I will leave you with a bunch of pictures.

 And he was my little helper the other morning when I was making my first batch of strawberry jelly.  (First time ever making it - and it turned out very good!!!!)

He also kept very busy in the kitchen the other day 'cooking' (or making a mess) while I was trying to get dinner ready...

Our week in pictures...

Surprise, surprise.  Just a bunch of pictures from this past week.

I went up the other morning to take a shower.  Ben was awake, so I put him in his crib so he would be entertained by his mobile.  And gave Jim some books to read.  However, Jim had better things in mind -

I guess he felt that Ben really needed his mobile wound up again.  (And don't worry, there was no chance of injuries - Jim used his stool to climb up.)

Ben thinks his dad is pretty rad.  It's a 3 month shirt, and I had some trouble snapping the buttons.  (Ignore the spit up all down the front of him...)

Too bad Jim was trying to escape this picture - because it would have been extra adorable, look at Ben's smile!

Jim was very serious the other morning while he was painting!

This picture of Jim cracks me up.  He looks like a football player with pads on...He decided to put on Ben's onesie the other day...Yes, it was a little too small for him.

And finally, just a bunch of pictures from yesterday when I was taking Ben's 2 month pictures.  Jim found the sticker and decided to play with it.  He had a good time with that!

2 months

Ben had his 2 month check-up today, and got a clean bill of health!  He had to get 2 shots, one in each thigh, and another vaccine that he took oral.  He was a champ with the shots!  She got him in the left leg first and he started to cry, but by the time she got to the right leg (which was very quick) he was done crying...all to start crying again after the 2nd shot.  I picked him right up and he was all done crying!  What a brave little boy.

His stats were: 

Head - 16 1/4" - 97th percentile
Height - 23 1/2" - 79th percentile
Weight - 11lbs 15oz - 49th percentile

I just looked back, and both Jim & Ben were the same height @ 2 weeks.  Ben is a little heavier (Jim was 11 lbs. 8 ozs.)

What Ben is up to at 2 months:

- He wears 3 month clothes - although I'm noticing some of them are starting to get small on him.

- Wears size 1 diapers.  Once we finish what we have open we will be moving up to 2's.

- Is a great sleeper - goes down around 9:00, and gets up around 5-5:30.

- Nurses usually 6 times a day, about every 3 hours or so.

- Has very good head strength - when we hold him on our shoulder he's always looking around.

- Has the best smiles!  And has started to 'talk' to us as well.

- Loves his play mat - will lay there and stare at his globe, kicking his legs the entire time! 

- Has started to grab onto things - likes to grab onto my shirt a lot!

8 Weeks

Hard to believe Ben is 8 weeks old!!!  I will do a little post / recap of what he is up to after his 2 month appointment on Thursday.  For now I will leave you with some pictures from this weekend.  First up his 8 week pictures...

Jim wanted to help out with the pictures as well - so I got some of the 2 of them together...

 Jim asked me to cover him up the other morning - so I tucked him in as well - he's so cute :)

Ben being the awesome little brother!

I love this picture.  Jim was trying to give Ben his mickey - and was holding his head still, and telling him to open his mouth.  Ben's face cracks me up :)
